I love me som American muscle car action, too. And, I miss my Mustang, but I couldn't do a 4th. The new Camaros aren't out yet, the Challenger just came out, Trans Ams aren't made anymore, and I can't exactly afford a Vette. Wanted something small and fast and, actually, this is the first car I drove :) What can I say, I'm easy. ;)
the nissan 350z/G35's have a real nice distinct exhaust note. since, technically, it's the same engine..i'm sure there are some nice ones...cold air intakes sound good under hard throttle. i miss mine ( haha
If brents right, the aftermarket should have something decent in pretty short order. The cold air induction would make a pretty quick difference, but the sound of a well tuned exhaust is still much cooler.
I have an STi, and love the way the boxer sounds stock, especially for a four cylinder, but keep thinking about dropping the coin on cat-back.
The right exhaust note, with low interior resonance truly enhances the driving experience.
You would have loved the sound of the truck I sold, it was pretty reasonable at part throttle, but when I stepped into it, the combination of blower whine, full length headers, and dual exhaust made it sound like a Cup car at Bristol.
So, did you get the 2.5 or the 3.5L V6?
...I just wish it was louder.
